Tilly Birds 常形容自己是「三位呆板的小孩一起做音樂」，主音 Third 和結他手 Billy 在大學時期遇上鼓手 Milo，組隊並成為了今天在泰國大受歡迎的 Tilly Birds！他們常表示希望自己的音樂能影響下一代，他們的音樂混合 Rock、Pop 和 Soul，除了唱過多首泰文愛情歌曲，最近也推出一首英文歌〈Never A Waste Of Time〉，並預告即將會推出新專輯！

A: What messages do you hope fans take away from your new song “Never A Waste Of Time”?
你們希望樂迷從新歌〈Never A Waste Of Time〉之中得到甚麼領悟？

B: I think just getting the sense of not wasting our time. Getting a calm sense and being mellowed. Everything is fine.
我希望樂迷領悟到不要浪費時間，尋找自己的寧靜，放輕鬆，所有事情都會變好的。

T: I wanted them to be opened with whatever they listen to. For me personally, it’s like making peace with what had already happened. You might feel sorry about that which makes you feel regret, just make peace with it and calm your mind. Looking back might make you realize you’re not seeing it the way that you used to see it before. Time will help us.
我希望樂迷可以對於所聽的音樂抱持開放的態度；對於我來說，跟已經發生的事情和解，你可能感到後悔，但可以學習放下，保持心境平和。回望過去，你可能會發現現在看待事情的態度已變得不一樣，時間會幫助我們的。

Tilly Birds -〈Never A Waste Of Time〉(Official Music Video):

A: In the Music Video of “Never A Waste Of Time”, Third was wearing a bomb and it started counting down from 3 mins and 48 seconds. If Tilly Birds only have 3 days and 48 mins left on Earth, then Tilly Birds would have to fly to the moon and move back to Earth one year later. What would you do and pack in these 3 days and 48 mins on Earth?
在〈Never A Waste Of Time〉MV 中，Third 的頸上掛了一個計時炸彈，時間從 3’48” 倒數著，如果 Tilly Birds 逗留在地球的時間只剩下 3 天 48 分鐘，然後就要搬上月球居住一年，你們在這段時間會在地球做些甚麼？你們會帶甚麼物品上月球？

T: For me, I think I’ll bring a guitar. Because being on the moon would be very lonely. I think music can help. Also, probably food and clothing. For the things I would do, I would just spend it with my bandmates. You know, to be with someone who really means something big to us. My band is a major part of my life now, so I think I would be with them and my family.
對我而言，我會帶我的結他，因為在月球上生活應該很寂寞，音樂應該可以幫到我。我還會帶食物和衣服吧！至於會做的事情，我應該會和我的隊友一起渡過，你知道的，和重要的人在一起意義重大，我的 band 現在對於我的人生來說是很重要的一環，因此我應該會和他們，還有家人待在一起。

M: I think I just need my laptop, water and coffee maker. I think I will be fine.
我想我應該只要有電腦、水、咖啡機，應該就可以了。

B: I think I would go hiking and camping, just being in the wild for three days because I know I’m going to miss it. Going to the moon with these guys, I’m going to pack my whole studio. We’re going up there, and we’re going to make a f***ing album! That’s what we’re going to do! The next thing I’m going to pack would be my kitchen, though I cannot cook up there anyway, so that probably doesn’t work. Maybe I’ll bring books and… damn, I can’t even bring my chessboard because I can’t play it in space!
我應該會行山和露營，在野外待三天，因為我應該會很想念地球吧！至於和這 3 位隊友上月球，我應該要帶整個錄音室上去，因為我要上去製作一張偉大的專輯出來！這就是我們要做的事！下一件要帶的東西可能是我的廚房，雖然我不能在上面煮食⋯ 可能我還會帶書本，但我不能帶我的棋盤上去！因為棋子會滿天飛呢！

A: Tilly Birds released English songs when the band started, including “Heart in a Cage”, “Like a Dead Man” and “Unwanted” from 2014-16. However, following that all the songs were written in Thai. Until 2024, two English songs “White Pills” and “Retro-39” were released. And recently, “Never A Waste Of Time” is out. Why did Tilly Birds stop writing English songs in those 8 years? And what motivated the shift back to English?
Tilly Birds 一出道的時候推出過好幾首英文歌，包括 2014-16 年期間發佈了〈Heart in a Cage〉、〈Like a Dead Man〉、〈Unwanted〉，但之後推出的大多數都是泰文歌。直至到 2024 年，才再發佈兩首英文語〈White Pills〉和〈Retro-39〉，最近也發佈了另一首英文歌〈Never A Waste Of Time〉，為甚麼 Tilly Birds 在那八年期間停止推出英文歌？現在為甚麼有動力回寫英文歌呢？

M: We started out in English because we liked it that way. We still do. That’s why we came back to write in English, but we switched to Thai because we found it as a challenge. Okay, let’s try writing in Thai! See what we can do about it. Also, we are a band in Thailand, we probably need to write some Thai songs as well. Yes, you can say it’s marketing idea, but also a pure challenge. Let’s have a try. It is a brand new challenge to come back to English too! It’s like flipping the challenge to the other way.
我們出道時推出英文歌，是因為我們當時喜歡以這種方式做音樂。這也是我們最近回寫英文歌的原因，我們在中途寫泰文歌是因為這對於我們來說是一項挑戰，試試寫泰文歌吧！實驗一下結果會怎麼樣，再加上我們是泰國樂隊，我們也需要推出泰文歌的，你可以說這是配合市場要求，但同時這也是一項挑戰。最近我們從寫泰文歌又變作寫英文歌，也是一項挑戰呢！就像是反挑戰一樣。

A: Your music blends indie rock, pop and soul. How do you balance these influences to create your signature sound?
Tilly Birds 的音樂包括搖滾、流行樂、靈魂樂的元素，你們如何平衡這些元素，從而創作具備屬於你們特色的音樂？

M: Basically, we are three people with different taste, so we scramble it, make argument, then make final decisions. We all have different roles. I am responsible for composing the melody, Third’s responsible for the lyrics part, and Billy’s responsible for the production. We do things that we have pleasure in.
我們三人的品味都不相同，所以我們把各人的意念混合後，激烈討論過，再下最終的決定。三個角色有所不同：我負責創作旋律、Third 負責填詞、Billy 負責製作的部分；但我們都在做令自己快樂的事。

A: What are the inspirations for you guys to compose music? (Such as romance experience? Or movies you like? Or travelling?)
Tilly Birds 創作的靈感有哪些？例如愛情經歷、電影、旅行⋯

T: I take care of the lyrics part, so most of my perspectives come from the stories of my friends, from movies or quotes. Whatever sparks an idea, we would just write it. We just want to tell the story. It goes along with the age. As we grow older, we’re gaining more experience. We get to see the world with more perspectives. I think those are something inspire us to create our songs and albums.
由於我負責填詞的部分，我大部分的想法都來自於朋友的經歷和電影對白。只要有東西刺激我的靈感，我們就馬上埋頭開始創作。我們只想說故事，而故事隨著我們長大而改變，因為我們的經歷變得豐富，我們得到更多的角度去看待這個世界，這些就是啟發我們去創作專輯的靈感來源。

A: How would you describe Tilly Bird’s journey in last 11 years since your official entry to the music industry?
你會如何形容 Tilly Birds 過去出道 11 年的歷程？

B: It’s been a fun ride, and we’re just getting started.
這是一個很精彩的歷程，而這個歷程只是才剛開始而已。

T: We are on our way. We appreciate what comes along the road. Such as the challenges we face together, the happiness and the success. What do we have? We never lose our “bandship” because we are so invested, and so focused on what we do. Also, meeting other artistes just like greeting new friends. That’s a fun!
我們在歷程的路上，正在欣賞沿途的風景，例如我們一起面對的挑戰、快樂和成就。我們擁有甚麼？我們一直擁有彼此間的 “bandship” (隊友間的革命情感)，因為我們很投入，也很專注於所做的事情。沿路遇上不同的音樂人就像交新朋友一樣，太有趣了！

M: We’ve already achieved one success, which is to be a full-time musician! That means we can make it for a living. Speaking as an artiste, you can say we are just getting started because once you say it’s done, you have nothing to achieve anymore. 
我們已經創下了一項成就，就是成為全職的音樂人！意思是我們可以以做音樂維生。作為一位音樂人，我必須說我們的旅程才剛開始，因為如果連你自己都覺得旅程快結束了，那就不能創出更多的成就。

A: Comparing singing in English to singing in Thai, is there any difference in expressing your emotions? Also, are the target listeners the same or different?
對比唱英文歌和泰文歌，在表達情感方面會有所不同嗎？受眾目標又是否不一樣？

T: Emotionally, they are different at all. Singing both in English and Thai are impactful to me, and probably to the audience as well. I used to think we must sing in English in order to communicate with foreigners or other countries. However, when we went on overseas tour, our fans could actually sing in Thai! Sometimes they want us to speak in Thai because they love the uniqueness of our language. Singing in English feels much more free. It’s not as strict as Thai. Less concern about the vowels, the clearness of the pronunciation and enunciation. We have so many audience who know our music in Thai. Those are our major listeners, some of them appreciate our English songs as well. Also, the good news is, our new album is coming up!!!
在表達情感方面，唱英文歌和泰文歌非常不同，但它們對於我來說都非常具影響力，可能對於我們的樂迷來說也一樣。我曾經以為一定要唱英文歌才可以將我們的音樂放送到海外，但後來我們到海外表演時才發現，海外的粉絲也一樣懂得唱我們的泰文歌！有時候他們甚至對我們說泰文，因為他們喜歡泰文的獨特性。至於唱英文歌令我感到更自由，因為英文的發音不如泰文般嚴謹。既然有這麼多樂迷都懂得唱我們的泰文歌，他們就是我們的目標受眾，部分也喜歡我們的英文歌。噢！要帶個好消息給大家 — 我們的新專輯即將發佈了！！！

A: In your spare time, what are your hobbies?
在你們的閒暇時間，愛做些甚麼？

B: One of my hobbies is to smell nice perfumes. If you say you like my songs, I’ll be very happy. But if you say I smell good, I’ll be so happy!!!!!!
我其中一項興趣是聞香水，如果你告訴你喜歡我的音樂，我會很開心；但如果你告訴我聞起來很香，我會超級興奮呢！！！

T: I like playing badminton. Also, I like going to gym and cleaning! I find myself constantly vacuuming my room. Seeing dust everywhere that would be a big NO for me. Cleaning is my obsession right now. Also, I like reading books.
我喜歡打羽毛球，也喜歡去健身，還有清潔！我經常為自己的房間吸塵，如果我看見到處都是塵埃，我絕不能忍受，清潔就是我目前最著迷的事，我也喜歡閱讀。

M: I basically just like sitting back in my room. Watching TV.
我喜歡待在自己的房間，看看電視。

A: This year you had your show performance in Singapore, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. How was the energy level in different regions? Could you feel the audience’s enthusiasm downstage?
今年 Tilly Birds 去了新加坡、上海、廣州和香港表演，各地觀眾的反應如何？你能夠感受到他們在台下的熱情嗎？

B: The crowds were different everywhere we performed. However, we were surprised the most about Hong Kong! It was indeed our first time there. The crowd sang back to us. And when we were about to end the show, it was like our bowing moment. They didn’t want us to go home. It was like a special encore moment.
每個地區的觀眾都很不一樣，但香港是令我們最驚喜的！香港的觀眾在台下唱我們的歌，那是我們第一次到訪香港，我們差不多表演完結，正當我們準備鞠躬準備離開的時候，台下的觀眾表示很不捨我們離開，是一個很特別的 Encore 時刻。
